Who We Are

When we founded GridLiance in 2014, our aim was to improve the reliability and resilience of the grid by bringing competition to the electric transmission industry. In an industry long dominated by entrenched utility companies, this is no easy feat.

Several years and hundreds of transmission lines later...

  • We’ve built a company that is flexible enough to partner with electric cooperatives, municipal utilities, renewable energy developers, and others regardless of size and geography across the country.
  • We’ve invested in transmission upgrades to improve the reliability and resiliency of the grid, reducing the number and duration of power outages too long endured by many customers.
  • We’ve created a dynamic team that has developed creative solutions to the unique financial, operational, and compliance challenges our partners are dealing with.
GridLiance is one of only two independent electric transmission companies in the U.S.
GridLiance owns approximately 600 miles of transmission lines, as well as substations.

We’re not a consulting firm looking at the short-term, we are a committed partner invested in the long-term. With operations in three regional transmission organizations and five states, we work every day to identify new opportunities for electric cooperatives, municipal utilities and others to improve the electric grid.

The potential customer value from expanding competitive processes to a third of all planned U.S. transmission investments would be approximately $8 billion over the course of five years.
