2014 — To bring the benefits of competition to an industry dominated by legacy utilities, GridLiance is incorporated.
March 2015 — Blackstone’s energy-focused private equity business announces it has partnered with and invested in GridLiance to solve critical infrastructure problems and to invest in new transmission projects to deliver energy security to America.
April 2016 — GridLiance acquires assets from Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC), 410 miles of 69 kV and 115 kV transmission lines and related substation infrastructure in the Panhandle of Oklahoma.
June 2016 — GridLiance signs a co-development agreement with Kansas Power Pool (KPP) to advance transmission projects that will deliver value to KPP and its 31 member cities.
September 2017 — More than 160 miles of 230 kV transmission lines are acquired from Valley Electric Association in Southern Nevada.
November 2017 — GridLiance consolidates offices in Chicago and Kansas City and relocates its headquarters to Irving, Texas.
April 2018 — GridLiance acquires the City of Nixa (Missouri) Utility’s 69 kV transmission facilities including four substations, and related infrastructure. GridLiance subsequently rebuilds 1.25 miles of the line in downtown Nixa to accommodate the expansion of Highway 14 and upgrade the transmission system to increase the reliability of the electric grid in the region.
June 2018 — GridLiance begins construction on the $50 million Sloan Canyon Switching Station in Boulder City, Nevada.
2019 — GridLiance rolls out an initiative to increase its corporate responsibility activities by supporting civic events, safety training, and educational initiatives in Irving, Texas as well as the communities it services in Kansas, Missouri, and Nevada.
November 2019 — GridLiance commissions the Sloan Canyon Switching Station, physically connecting Valley Electric Association to the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) system.
